From Horoscope about 'Carne Viva'

‘Carne Viva’ is a soundtrack / live score to a short film i made titled ‘Carne.’ That accompanied an LP of the same name released by Wharf Cat in 2019. These are practice takes and board recordings of live performances by myself and Elsner Nino using source material used and unused on the LP (Various vocal takes from Dory Bello of Dracula, modular, field and iPhone recordings from Mary's Coin Laundry and the bay in back of Mercy Hospital in Miami and contact mic'd congas). It's been a year since the record has been released and it was recorded a year before that..to distance myself from my past and continue moving and thinking forward I chose to only perform and screen the film for commission but due to the recent political climate and seeing a lot of the things I was talking about in this record resurface, I started to worry that it is because I was thinking about it, putting energy into it, manifesting it to come to light, which is another reason why I stopped performing the set. I don't believe in magic but i have decided to give this to the Warners to release on Bandcamp to maybe ease some of the guilt i have about it. I hope you enjoy. These shows were super fun and only performed a few times. Big thanks to Elsner for performing with me and anyone who listened or watched. Enjoy.
